Level of Finish Guide:
This diagram, below shows some of the general different levels of finish that I can achieve for drawn style storyboards for TVC's. The styles range from shooting boards up to high finished line and colour. As a rule of thumb the more detail of finish or the more characters per frame the longer the board takes to create.
Generally for animatics (animated storyboards) I would begin by drawing shooting boards to finalise the composition and range of character/camera movement, then go on to draw up the frames at a higher level of finish.
